Public health experts agreed months ago that we needed to achieve a global vaccination target of 40 percent by the end of 2021. Yet, it’s already November and only 2% of people in low-income countries have received at least one dose.
If there isn’t a global solution to COVID-19, it will only continue to get worse. More variants, more deaths, and more loss — especially in countries that are not as well-off as the United States. It is only right for the US to lead the charge in a global vaccination effort.
